SocialCitnet - How Social is your Patent?
SocialCitNet (www.socialcitnet.com) is an online tool that introduces an new approach to search patent databases and to build and analyze technology landscapes using patent citations.It analyzes a patent's citation network to identify the most important patents in that network.
With a single patent number as input, SocialCitnet extracts citation information from patent databases maintained by the USPTO (US Patents) and EPO (worldwide patents) to construct the citation network of the input patent. The tool goes on to compute 3 different indices for each patent in the network. Based on these indices, the patents are ranked and the most important patents are identified. |
