Priya Ranjan Mishra (Strategic Innovation)

 Dr. Priya Ranjan Mishra has done his Ph.D. from Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi after his Engineering from BIT, Sindri. Priya Ranjan has been involved in research & development of solar systems for last 30+ years under various agencies. He developed 2KW first roof top grid connected system in India under MNRE funding program in 1998. He has designed various types of off-grid solar systems from 60 Watt to 6000 Watt which has been deployed in millions across India while he was working at Central Electronics Limited. Till recently he was engaged in investigation of Storage integrated Solar DC grid for commercial establishment, residential spaces and outdoor lighting. At Philips, he created DC home where most of AC appliances are reused in AC without any or major changes. He is IEEE Chair for working group “LVDC in Home” under IEEE LVDC industry connection program. He is also a member of various IEEE and IEC working groups on LVDC standards. To his credit there are more than 35 publications, 8 patent grant and 23 pending patent applications. He is also reviewer for Elsevier Science Journal, IEEE transaction on power delivery & IEEE sensor Journal. Besides his professional work he is also involved in slum and orphaned children education for last 20 years and assist various NGOs as resource person in terms of teaching, management input, raising fund etc. He has also won “Light for life” competition internal to Philips and thus was instrumental in setting a solar powered school near Delhi suburb and a solar powered library in village near Banaras. He also helps budding entrepreneurs in developing their ideas and in pursuing IP i.e. patent creation.
